HASSAN: Deputy Commissioner K.H. Aswathanarayana Gowda, who is chairman of the private schools regulatory authority, announced the fee structure for aided and unaided schools in the district. In a press release here on Saturday, he advised parents to bring it to the notice of the authority if any school demanded more fees. There is concession for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students in aided schools. For girls, there is no fee. The following is the fee structure for aided schools: Standard 1 to 5: No fees; Standard VI and VII: Special development fees of Rs 500 and non-tuition fee (Rs 30). Standard 8 to 10: failed students should pay monthly fees of Rs. 4, Rs. 5 and Rs. 5.50 respectively as tuition fee, special development fee of Rs. 500 and non-tuition fee (Rs. 150). In unaided schools following is the fee structure: The tuition fee is calculated on 30 per cent of total salary of teaching staff of primary and high school divided by total students of last year. Special development fee Rs. 600 and capitation fee should not exceed one year's tuition fees.
