VISAKHAPATNAM: Samata, an NGO, requested the Andhra Pradesh Official Language Committee to intervene in the issue of providing environment impact report in full to the people in Telugu before the public hearing on the Jindal's alumina refinery and cogeneration plant was held in Boddavara near S. Kota on Monday. In a letter sent to Chairman of the Committee A.B.K. Prasad, a representative of Samata G. Srinivas thanked him for asking the Jindal company to postpone the public hearing till the Telugu version of the report was made available but regretted that the Collector of Vizianagaram expressed his helpless in this regard. However, Samata representative wanted the Official Language Committee to use its powers to get the public hearing postponed.
