GUNTUR: A 14-year-old boy, identified as Y. Chandu, attempted suicide on Saturday evening by consuming pesticide on the District Collector's Office premises. The boy hailing from Sirigiripadu in Veldurthy mandal of the district in a three-page a petition to the Collector said that he desired to study further, but his father is not in a position to support his studies. He sought help from the Collector, but not finding any official on the Collectorate to handover his petition at 6 p.m., he consumed pesticide. The boy's condition is critical and is being treated in the ICU in the Government General Hospital here.
