Arrangements reviewed for Brahmotsavam

Staff Reporter

TIRUMALA: TTD Executive officer K.V. Ramanachary on Saturday reviewed arrangements for the annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara slated to commence on September 15.

In this connection, he urged temple authorities to extend invitations to all religious heads of Sri Vaishanava community in the country to participate in the nine-day festival.

Underlining the need for better co-operation among various departments within the organisation, he called for active involvement by local MLA, MP, Collector and Superintendent of Police in making the arrangements.

He also requested APSRTC authorities to organise special services and engage experienced drivers to run the buses on the ghat roads.

He asked the Health Department to take the responsibility of maintaining hygiene in the temple town and secure all the required material well in advance to overcome last moment confusion. He instructed officials at the reception to explore the possibility of erecting huge `hangers' of temporary nature to accommodate several thousands of devotees in a single sitting.

Food

Nitya Annadanam officials were instructed to supply high quality food free to all the devotees in darshan queue lines.
