ANANTAPUR: As part of the Chief Minister's special package, 15 small- scale milk-cooling centres will be set up in the district with an estimated cost of Rs. 8.27 crores. Each cooling centre will be set up with a cost of about Rs. 55.1 lakh. Setting up of small-scale milk cooling units, supply of milch animals, supply of mineral mixture for high-breed cows, supply of fodder-cutting machines, sheep rearing units and others were finalised for the district under the package at a meeting held here on June 1. The proposed units will be run by Mandal Mahila Samakhyas and collection of milk for the units will also be taken up by Village Mahila Samakhyas. They will be given training under the Indira Kranti Patham. The units will come up at Amarapuram, Chennekothapalli, Singanamala, Kambaduru, Kundurpi, Mudigubba, Nallamada, Bukkapatnam, Pedda Pappuru, Ramagiri, Rayadurg, Yadiki, Garladinne, Pedda Vaduguru and Talupula. About 5,000 high-breed milch animals will also be supplied with 25 per cent subsidy. Each unit will cost Rs. 30,000.
