CHENNAI: A rasika's gripe that O.S. Arun was performing as much in Chennai as in the southern districts or in New Delhi resulted in a special music performance for connoisseurs. In full flow during the show at the Narada Gana Sabha mini hall under the auspices of the Alapana Trust, Arun began with songs on Ganesha, such as Entharo Mahanu Bhavulu. He played upon soundscapes in the kalpana swaras for a song in the raga `Varamu,' also called `Shuddha Hindolam' making it sound like words with meaning: Ma Ni Da Ni Da Ni Sa Da Ni (Man be calm always). There was an appreciative applause from the audience. The singer performed several requests from the audience, which included singer S. Janaki and M.S. Viswanathan, comedy actor Vivek and former City Police Commissioner R. Nataraj.
Treat for the audience
Moved by her favourite song rendered by Mr. Arun, S. Janaki walked up to the stage and showered currency notes on his head. When he sang `Sesha Shaila Vasa Narayana,' the singer announced that it was actor Vivek's favourite song, which he would ask him to sing over the phone when he was away on shooting.
