HYDERABAD: Bomb disposal squads rushed to Alpha Hotel near Secunderabad railway station on Saturday and found a circuit board connected to two electronic detonators, which could have been used for making a timer-based improvised explosive device. The circuit board was, however, without any explosive charge but there was a possibility of the detonators going off. Police said a hotel worker grew suspicious while sweeping the floor as he noticed some loose wires hanging out of the circuit board. The traveller who stayed in the room was about to check out, when he sounded an alert. Police was called in immediately and the traveller Prem Jadav was detained for questioning. There was also a possibility of the circuit board and the detonators being left behind by those who had checked into the room earlier. Though the unearthing of the detonators in a lodge located close to the bustling railway station was baffling, everyone heaved a sigh of relief on learning that no explosive substances were kept along with them. Lodge worker Govind 17, noticed it while cleaning room no. 117 soon after Mr. Jadav checked out 1 p.m. "I was sweeping the floors when I saw some wires hanging beneath the cot. I thought it must be bomb and alerted the manager," the Market police quoted him as saying. The layer of dust found on the circuit board and the detonators suggested that they were planted there at least two to three weeks ago. The detonators had two letters - TL inscribed on them. Police are perplexed about the motive behind keeping the detonators inside the lodge room. Jadav, police said, is the car driver of a businessman from Pune. Jadav drove his employer to Hyderabad where the latter's daughter lives and he checked into the lodge on Thursday night.
