Botcha seeks details of survey by labour union
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Housing Minister Botcha Satyanarayana has sought details of a survey undertaken by the agricultural labour union affiliated to the CPI(M) that spoke about 43 per cent of houses not being constructed out of 37,090 rural units sanctioned under the Indiramma programme in various districts.
Welcoming the survey, the Minister in a letter to the union general secretary, Venkat, said it was not the former's intention to find fault with the disclosures. In fact, they would help the State Government detect loopholes in the housing programme.
Mr. Satyanarayana said the Government had sanctioned 19 lakh houses under the programme in urban areas. Construction of 80 per cent of the houses was taken up and they were under different stages of completion.
