HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old man Ashok was hacked to death allegedly by his friend Shiva at the latter's residence in Jeedimetla and later dumped the body in a nala. The body was found in a gunny bag early on Saturday. The police said Ashok, a native of Rajahmundry came to Shiva's house on Wednesday night to settle a financial dispute. The duo later consumed liquor. After Ashok became unconscious, Shiva first smashed his head with a boulder and then hacked him to death with a sickle. Shiva stuffed the body in a gunny bag and wiped out bloodstains in the house. As he could not get a chance to shift the body since Wednesday night, he dumped it in the nala on Saturday morning. The incident came to light when an elderly man Narasimha alerted the police.
Surrendered
However, Shiva (19), a tailor, surrendered at the police station later in the evening and confessed to having committed the crime. The police arrested him and registered a case of murder against him.
Body found in well
In another incident, the Cyberabad police on Saturday retrieved the body of a man in mid-30s from an abandoned well at NFC Nagar in Ghatkesar. The man, who was yet to be identified, was clad in white shirt. The body has been preserved at the Gandhi hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy, the police said.
