HYDERABAD: A brand-new Government school having all the basic amenities for students is being constructed by Hyderabad Area Round Table India (HART) at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh in old city. Talking to media persons on Saturday, Chairman for HART Salman Babukhan said that so far about seven Government schools in and around the twin cities have been constructed by HART. "The proceeds from Jagjit Singh musical night being held on Saturday would be used for construction of this school. We are hoping that Jagjit Singh night would fetch us Rs. 20 lakh," Mr. Babukhan informed. President for Round Table India (RTI) Shiv Kumar Eswar informed that till now RTI has constructed over 1,000 school buildings in various parts of the country by raising funds worth Rs. 75 crore. "We have constructed around 175 schools along the shoreline affected by the deadly tsunami. These schools were built at a cost of Rs. 7.5 crore. They are slated to be functional in the next few months," he said.
