3000 applications for Haj issued

Forms to be obtained free of cost

HYDERABAD:
As many as 3,000 application forms were issued on the first day itself when the State Haj Committee commenced disbursing Haj application forms here from Saturday.
State Haj Committee Chairman Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed inaugurated the special counter for issuing the forms. Each potential pilgrim from the twin cities and Ranga Reddy district made a payment of Rs.10,700 through demand draft (DD) for the forms.
Elderly pilgrims
The Darul Salaam Urban Cooperative Bank is issuing the DDs to pilgrims free of cost.
The Haj Committee clarified that pilgrims above 75 years of age should submit their applications in a separate envelope containing only two names as such pilgrims were entitled to only one companion- his/her close relationship.
