ISLAMABAD: A group of relatives of Indian soldiers missing since 1971 War on Monday visited the central prison in Karachi. They spoke to five Indian inmates, besides verifying records. But they did not get any lead on their suspicion that their kin could have been in the jail. "I cannot say it was fruitful. We did meet some Indian prisoners and saw some records but it is not possible to see the records in such a short time," Damayanthi Tambay, wife of Flight Lt. V.V. Tambay said after visiting the prison along with 13 other members of the delegation. After their visit to the prison, the relatives met Wasim Akhtar, adviser to the Sindh provincial government, and discussed their apprehensions that some of the Indian POWs could still be surviving, Suresh K. Reddy, the Indian diplomat accompanying the relatives, said. PTI
