BJP launches `Hyderabad Bachao' stir

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party launched dharna programmes in various city constituencies with the slogan of `Hyderabad Bachao' on Monday to create awareness about the threat to city from disruptive forces.

Addressing the dharna at Nallakunta Fever Hospital in Himayatnagar constituency, State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya said that in the wake of bomb blast at Mecca Masjid, it was clear that ISI backed extremist forces were bent on disrupting the peace in the city that was emerging as IT, Science, Knowledge city. The ruling party because of its vote bank politics was yielding to the pressure of Majlis and not taking stern action against `ISI addas' thus making the city vulnerable to all kinds of attacks, he alleged.

The BJP would stage dharnas in three constituencies per day besides launching door-to-door public awareness programmes . The dharnas would be followed by `Chalo Raj Bhavan' rally on June 13. The BJP also staged dharnas at Chandrayangutta and Khairatabad constitutneices.
