Rain plays truant on day 1

As usual, the first day at school was a grand affair. With eager parents accompanying children, all roads leading to schools witnessed traffic jams.

All the by-lanes leading to the schools were chock-a-block with cars, motorcycles, scooters and autorickshaws. So much so that even the places, which normally do not have major traffic problem had to be manned by policemen.

This time, the rain stayed away. It almost never fails to rain on the first day at school, making it difficult for the parents to take their wards to school and for teachers to manage the new batch of children, many of whom would be spending time away from home for the first time.
