Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson and former NoRKA Minister M.M. Hassan has urged the Indian Consulate in Jeddah to intervene on behalf of 1,300 Indians released under a public amnesty scheme but were stranded in the Saudi city. In a statement here on Tuesday, Mr. Hassan said those who had benefited from the amnesty scheme were living in squalid conditions. He urged the Indian Consulate to take urgent steps to ensure their smooth passage to India without delay. He also sent a memorandum to Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherji.
