PATHANAMTHITTA: The Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies in Thiruvalla (MACFAST) has launched its own education channel programme ``Knowledge Express.'' Inaugurating the channel at the MACFAST auditorium on Monday, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Thiruvalla Thomas Mar Koorilos said the channel would be available across the world at www.knowledgexpress.org. College Principal Abraham Mulamoottil said that ``Knowledge Express'' was the first education channel making use of the U.S.-based Global Television Technology. The channel will broadcast educational programmes from different parts of the country and abroad, Fr. Mulamoottil said. He said the programmes, to be broadcasted through the channel, included motivational talks, paper presentations, educational news, latest trends in the field of education, science and technology, etc. Fr. Mulamoottil said the channel would also provide a common platform for various educational institutions across the country to present their institutions, students, teaching faculty, etc, besides providing better facility for organising online national conferences. He said the channel would broadcast programmes from anywhere in the country with the help of a highly simplified broadcasting method in which an e-mail or telephone call could make a broadcast.
MBA course
Mar Koorilos also inaugurated the sixth batch of Master of Business Administration (2007-'09) course at the college. M.K. Koshi, executive vice-chairman of A.V. Thomas & Company, delivered the keynote address. Thomas Jacob, Editorial Director of Malayala Manorama, P.K. Abraham, MACFAST director, and Constantine Roussos, Professor of Computer Science at Lynchburg College at Virginia, also addressed the function.
