The workshop will be hosted in association with the Bhubaneswar Kala Kendra on the kendra premises. The five-day event will help the former workshop participants revise their earlier lessons while learning new compositions. The participants will be initiated into Kathak during the meet. Regular performances
The 10-year-old Kolkata-based centre for training in Kathak - Samskritiki Shreyaskar - opened its Orissa chapter in Bhubaneswar. "There have been regular performances, workshops and lecture-demonstrations at various centres in Orissa in collaboration with prominent cultural organisations of the State like Kala Vikash Kendra of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar Music Circle and Orissa Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar," says Rani who was born in Pakistan and married to an Oriya. There is a slow but steady growth of interest among the aspiring and established dancers here towards Kathak, Rani says.
