Aid from relief fund

VIJAYAWADA: A 44-year-old daily labourer in the 45th division of the city, Ghanta Nagaraju, who suffered a heart disease and was in need of immediate surgery, was granted a financial assistance of Rs. 85,000, thanks to the response of corporator P. Lakshmi Tulasi.

The corporator came to know about Nagaraju's ailment during a visit to the division as part of `Veedhikoroju' programme and helped Nagaraju represent his case for grant of aid from the relief fund of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. Nagaraju was granted aid within 20 days Rs. 50,000 from the PM's relief fund and Rs. 35,000 from the CM's relief fund. She thanked MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna for their help in the matter.
