Painter strangles wife

HYDERABAD: A painter, K. Srihari, allegedly strangled his wife, Sujatha, 25, to death after picking an argument with her over a family matter in their house at Trimulgherry late on Monday night.

A resident of Ayodhyanagar in Lothkunta, the painter got married two years ago. Within a year, he deserted his wife claiming that his family elders had performed his marriage against his wishes.

Their relatives however, persuaded Srihari to resume his family life. On Monday night, he entered into an argument with his wife and strangled her to death in a fit of rage, the police said.
