BANGALORE: To address the issue of water conservation and waste management in the city, two private organisations in coordination with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) launched a month-long campaign in the city on Tuesday. The organisations Concern India Foundation and Vakil Housing Development Corporation have come together to sensitise people and mobilise them to implement simple solutions for rainwater harvesting and proper waste disposal. According to a press release, the month-long campaign was been flagged off to mark World Environment Day. The event will help promote a healthy environment in the city, the release said. BBMP Commissioner K Jairaj, Pollution Control Board Chairman Sharath Chandra and Director of Vakil Housing Development Corporation Arif Vakil flagged off the campaign.
