31 cases registered in RPF drive

KOCHI: Thirty-one cases were registered and Rs.5,600 realised as fine on various charges as part of the ongoing special drive of the Railway Protection Force. One person was sentenced to 45 days' simple imprisonment on charges of pick-pocketing. — Staff Reporter

Lok Adalats

KOCHI: Lawyers across the State have begun boycotting Lok Adalats, demanding suspension of the magistrate who ordered the arrest of a defence lawyer in Chittur after his client escaped from police custody. As part of the protest, the lawyers boycotted the permanent Lok Adalat in the High Court. — Staff Reporter
