THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Registration is in progress for the pre-admission guidance programme for professional courses being organised by The Hindu -Educationplus in Thiruvananthapuram on June 10. The programme, meant for those seeking admission to professional courses in the engineering/medical streams, will be held at the A.K.G. Memorial Hall here. An official from the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will brief the participants about the online counselling and seat allotment process conducted by the commissioner. While medical expert and health activist C.R. Soman will make a presentation on medicine/allied courses, Ajay Antony from the Triumphant Institute of Management Education (TIME) will give an overview of courses in the engineering stream. The former CEO of the Technopark G. Vijayaraghavan will speak on professional courses and the IT sector. Representatives from private self-financing professional colleges too will participate in the programme, which is being organised in association with State Bank of Travancore and co-sponsored by TIME. A handbook providing an exhaustive overview of the main professional courses will be given free to each participant. Entry to the pre-admission guidance programme will be on a first-come first-served basis. A student can register for the programme in advance on payment of a fee of Rs.50. The form for registration is available at the city office of The Hindu on Airport Road, Vallakkadavu (telephone: 0471 2502001, 2502002). Outstation candidates can register by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope seeking an application form. In such case<109,97>s, the actual registration will be done just prior to the event. Those who register via e-mail on the id educationplustvm@thehindu.co.in should bring the printout of the reply to their e-mail to the programme venue and pay the fee there.
