Meher wins

VIJAYAWADA: Guntur's Meher Chinna Reddy emerged champion in the AP State championship-cum-FIDE rating tournament by garnering 7.5 points out of nine here on Wednesday.

Four players - Meher Chinna Reddy (Guntur), L.V. Shiva Kumar (Nellore), P. Satyanarayana (Hyderabad) and K.N.Gopal (Guntur) hauled 7.5 points each but on progressive scoring Meher was declared champion.

All the four players will represent Andhra in the forthcoming National B championship to be held at Dindugal from June 10 to 20.
