BIJAPUR: Members of various organisations mostly belonging to the Lingayat community took out a protest march against the book "Anudeva Horaganavanu" authored by Banjegere Jayaprakash in Talikot town of the district on Wednesday. The agitators urged the Government to ban the book, in which cheap comments had allegedly been made about the fatherhood of 12th century social reformer, Basaveshwara. They burnt an effigy of the author. Meanwhile a bandh was observed in Jamkhandi town of Bagalkot district on Tuesday. Shops and business establishments remained closed. Passengers were put to hardship as NWKRTC withdrew bus services till afternoon.
