Training programme for constables begins

90 per cent of trainees are graduates and postgraduates

GULBARGA: Inspector-General of Police R.K. Dutta inaugurated a training programme for the third batch of 393 newly recruited civil police constables at the Police Training Centre in Naganalli on the outskirts of Gulbarga on Wednesday.

Mr. Dutta, in his inaugural address, expressed satisfaction over the fact that nearly 90 per cent of the constables attending the training were graduates and postgraduates with computer knowledge. He pointed out that thorough training was essential to equip policemen with modern methods of investigation and interrogation. Prompt and proper investigation could facilitate quick delivery of justice by the judiciary, Mr. Dutta said. He called upon the trainees to keep service to society as the ultimate goal.

The Principal of the Training Centre, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, K. Ramachandra Rao, delivered the welcome address and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sangappa Chincholi proposed a vote of thanks.
