Suggestions made to allot recovered land to various agencies
|
BANGALORE:
Minister for Revenue Jagadish Shettar has said that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was expected to chair a high-level meeting in another few days and decide on various aspects relating to land allotment to agencies such as Bangalore Development Authority, Karnataka Housing Board, Karnataka Slum Clearance Board and other government departments. The Revenue Department would seek a price for the land although it would not be market price.
Of the 7,800 acres of land recovered so far in Bangalore Urban District, 796 acres of land had been auctioned since October and of this the Government had approved the sale of only 341 acres of land since the remaining land had not fetched the expected price (guidance value).
Bangalore Urban District Deputy Commissioner M.A. Sadiq recently put up details of auction of government land on a website and this attracted buyers from outside Bangalore.
Recovery of properties
With the recovery of encroached properties in other parts of the State and their auction set to begin shortly, this scheme is expected to be extended to all districts. This apart, the authorities had firmed up a proposal to launch a national advertising campaign before every auction.
