Association seeks lecturers' appointment

Staff Reporter

COIMBATORE: Teachers belonging to the Association of Lecturers of Self-Aided Colleges have made a representation to the Government urging immediate appointment of vacant positions in aided colleges.

Vacant positions

A release from the association said the Government announced in 2006 that vacant positions for lecturers in aided colleges would be filled.

Certificates

But the process of interviewing teachers and inspecting relevant certificates was not yet completed.

Academic year

The teachers of the association, who were working in self-financing colleges, have appealed to the Government to hasten the process, so that they would be able to finish the formalities before the new academic year began.

Commitments

They have expressed concern that they would not be able to spare time from their academic commitments once the classes begin.
