IFC to take stake in Lanco Power

HYDERABAD: International Finance Corporation (IFC) has signed an agreement to subscribe to an equity stake of 5.84 per cent amounting to $8 million in Lanco Amarkantak Power Pvt. Ltd. (LAPPL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) promoted by the Lanco Group. The company is developing a thermal power station in Chhattisgarh with two coal-fired units of 300 MW each. The total project, estimated to cost around Rs. 2,600 crore, is scheduled for completion in 2008.
