KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Nepal-India Power Exchange Committee kicked off here on Thursday to deal with problems related to sharing of electricity between the two countries. The Indian delegation is led by V. Ramakrishnan, Additional Secretary, and member of the Central Electricity Authority, while the Nepal Electricity Authority's Acting Director General, Arjun Bahadur Karki, is heading the Nepalese side. The two-day eighth PEC meet will mainly focus on increasing power exchange between Nepal and India, dealing with various problems related to sharing of electricity and extending transmission lines between the two countries, Indian Embassy sources said. The PEC was established in 1992 to promote exchange of power and sort out problems that may arise from time to time in this regard. PTI
