Eight killed over land dispute

Lohardaga: Eight members of a family, including six siblings, were allegedly killed by their kin over a land dispute at Makandu village near here, police said.

Mohammad Hanif, his wife Bhasmin Khatun and their six sons were butchered by sharp weapons allegedly by Hanif's brothers Mophil and Mobarak late on Wednesday night, District Superintendent of Police Subodh Prasad said.

Hanif's mother Kasnoon Khatun told police that Hanif and his family members were eliminated following a land dispute.

The two brothers fled the village after the crime, he said.

Hanif's dead sons were identified as Pale Khan (25), Imran Khan (17) Meherban Khan (15), Yusuf Khan (12), Anees Khan (10) and Danesh Khan (8).

All the bodies were sent to the Sadar hospital for post mortem, he said.- PTI
