DHARWAD: The mutilated body of a young girl who had gone missing on Tuesday was found in a field at Belur village near Dharwad on Wednesday. It was wrapped in a gunny bag. The police have given the name of the seven-year-old girl as Kariyavva Goolappa Talawar of Belur village. The girl had left her house at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and did not return. A search by her parents and relatives proved futile. On Wednesday, the body was found in a field nearer her house. The police suspect murder. Deputy Superintendent of Police N.G. Sanikoppa said the police had some clues and would solve the case in two to three days. The Dharwad Rural Police have registered a case.
