Kakinada: The resistance of some people under flimsy grounds, to the construction of a community hall named after Dr Ambedkar in Rangaiah Naidu Street in Ragampet area here is not justified, according to Satti Gopala reddy, a land lord. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said that basing on the request of the 33rd division corporator and the Chaitanya Madiga Youths Association, he had volunteered to construct the Ambedkar Bhavan in the site owned by him at his own cost that too after obtaining due permission from municipal authorities. However instead of appreciating his gesture, Gopala Reddy said that TDP and CPI (M) leaders were levelling baseless criticism terming him as a land grabber. He alleged that taking advantage of his absence in the town for longer period, on a business mission away at Visakhapatnam, 2.50 acres of his site was encroached upon by some local people. He said it was unfortunate the political leaders were trying to brand him as the land grabber.
