Validity of bus passes extended

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has extended the validity of 2006-2007 student concession bus passes till June 30.

The decision was taken after BMTC authorities realised the procedural delays involved in the issue of smart cards and the teething problems associated with it, stated a press release.

To avoid inconvenience to the students, BMTC will permit new students to travel between their residences and the educational institutions on the strength of the current academic year (2007-2008) school admission fee receipt. Students availing themselves of this facility should travel in school uniforms, the release added.
