Coimbatore: The Race Course police on Wednesday night recovered the body of Selvakumar (37) in a highly decomposed condition from a house at Annai Indira Nagar in Pappanaickenpalayam area. According to police, Selvakumar was living along with his brother Charles and doing religious service. His family members had sent Selvakumar to Coimbatore after he was found to be suffering from psychological instability. It is learnt that Selvakumar allegedly committed suicide two months ago.
Assurance
Giving an assurance that he would bring Selvakumar back to life through prayers, Charles kept the body in his house. He also did not inform the family members, who were living at Thuvarankurichi in Tiruchi, of Selvakumar's death. For repeated inquiries from the family members, Charles is said to have given a constant reply that Selvakumar had gone on tour for religious service. Charles along with his family members had kept the body in the house, offering prayers, hoping to bring back the deceased to life. When the family members of Selvakumar broke open the house, they found the body in a highly decomposed state inside the premises.
Police
Race Course Police intervened and recovered the body. A case of death under suspicious circumstance has been registered and investigations are on.
