Nothing strange

This refers to the editorial "A strange decision" (June 7). Even after the Central Vigilance Commission found ample evidence to prosecute Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the Taj Heritage Corridor case, the Governor found no prima facie case against her.

Once the apex court directs the CBI to handle a case, governments should not interfere with it.

Vinod Kumar,
Tirunelveli

The Governor's decision should be seen from the constitutional point of view. His decision was constitutionally correct. Linking it to the presidential election amounts to insulting the highest office of the land. The denial of sanction has come from a competent constitutional authority. It is important to view it non-politically.

P. Senthil Saravana Durai,
Tuticorin
