Gang robs cash from two

Belgaum: A gang of four robbed Rs. 4.07 lakh from two employees of a private company in Shinoli, Maharashtra, about 17 km from Belgaum on Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, Janba Yellurkar and Sanjay Thanu More were retuning on their motorcycle after drawing money from a bank on Congress Road.

They were intercepted by two motorcycles and then attacked with sharp weapons. However, despite being injured, Mr. Yellurkar and Mr. More managed to escape. On seeing the attackers chasing them, they dropped the cash bag and ran.

The attackers picked up the bag and disappeared from the scene.

The Belgaum Rural Police Station have registered a case and taken up investigation. Mr. Yellur, who suffered injury on the head, has been admitted to KLE Hospital here.
