Bidhuri plans Gujjar dharna

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Delhi Nationalist Congress Party president Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Friday announced that he would sit on a peaceful silent dharna at Raj Ghat here on Saturday along with members of the Gujjar community to protest against "State terror" unleashed by the police in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on the community.

Mr. Bidhuri lamented that senior members and leaders of the community were for no valid reason being targeted by the police authorities in these States. "Ever since peace was restored at the instance of the Gujjar leaders, false cases are being registered against them and they are being picked up from their premises during night without any specific charges," he claimed.
