Set of guidelines for doctors compiled

NEW DELHI: In what is said to be the first initiative of its kind, a set of guidelines has been compiled for general practitioners and health care institutes to devise a standardised method for detection, treatment and management of coronary artery disease.

The guidelines are a culmination of research work and deliberations recorded by an expert committee chaired by noted cardiologist Naresh Trehan. They have been compiled into a booklet that is being distributed to Cardiology Society of India members across the country.

Sale of prospectus for CS course begins

NEW DELHI: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has announced sale of prospectus and application forms for its eight-month Foundation Course. Students can buy the forms from the Institute's headquarters at 22 Institutional Area here on Lodhi Road on cash payment of Rs. 70. The prospectus can also be got by registered post by sending a demand draft or postal order for Rs. 110.

The Institute imparts training by distance learning enabling students to qualify as company secretaries. The Institute provides course material for all subjects at the time of registration and there is also provision for optional oral coaching classes.

Child workers rescued

NEW DELHI: Nineteen children working in small plastic factories in the Narela Industrial Area here have been rescued by "Bachpan Bachao Andolan" activists in collaboration with the State Labour Department and the Delhi police.

These children were working in units manufacturing slippers and other small items. When the rescue team raided the factories, it found that the children were kept in locked and guarded rooms. They had been brought here from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
