ANANTAPUR: The 14th convocation of Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) will be held on the university campus here on June 12. Governor and Chancellor of the University Rameshwar Thakur will be the chief guest. SKU Vice-Chancellor A. Rama Rao said here on Friday that Secretary of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, T. Ramaswamy would deliver the convocation address. The university would confer an honorary doctorate on him and four others who excelled in their respective fields. Former Governor of the State and presently Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde, founder of well-known non-governmental organisation which had been engaged in rural development, uplift of the poor, healthcare, education and housing for the poor and drought proofing measures Rural Development Trust Father Vincent Ferrer, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission Y. Venkatarami Reddy and Ratnakaram Balaraju, a retired professor for his service to the literary world, would also be conferred honorary doctorates at the convocation. In all, 43 gold medals, 144 Ph.D, 112 M.Phil, 2,729 post graduate and 13,415 under graduate degrees would be present in the convocation. Principal of University College T. Pullaiah and others were present.
