Accident victim looks for help

KORAPUT: Each day begins with a new hope for Jayantimani Suna, a girl in her teens at Debighat village of Koraput block especially for the last two years from the time she met with an accident near her village. She was returning from her work when she boarded a motorcycle coming from Jeypore to reach her village safely. But as the motorcycle did not stop near Debighat, she had jumped down in the anticipation of fear of being carried to some other place. She was admitted to the district headquarters hospital and with serious condition in a hospital at Visakhapatnam.

Her scalp was fractured and had to be cut in a section. Since then she continues to carry her broken scalp piece in her thighs. This would be transplanted in the head once Rs. 50,000 was arranged for meeting the hospital expenses, Prafulla Suna, her father said. He had approached the district administration for help. Help of Rs. 5,000 from Red Cross funds had helped them when the accident occurred but the amount was not sufficient for the family depending on his daily wages. The family was eagerly looking for assistance. Meanwhile, Jayanti loses her memory all of a sudden causing more concern for her parents. Prafulla wishes to work hard, but the daily wages he earned will not be sufficient.
