Mayawati: not aspiring to be PM

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday said she had no aspirations to become Prime Minister.

In a statement here, she said she never believed in such "low-level politics" and this was a baseless claim.

Some media reports had quoted her as saying she looked forward "to occupying the highest chair in the country one day." They also quoted her as saying she was preparing a blueprint for the "much larger participation of the BSP in the next Lok Sabha election." — PTI
