Andhra region may lose 10,000 jobs if the GO is enforced

  • APNGOs' association plans agitation on GO 399
  • GO 610 may evoke strong reaction in Andhra

HYDERABAD: Congress Member of Parliament Ch. Harirama Jogaiah has suggested implementation of GO 610 under the purview of the Presidential Order, 1975, and relaxing the deadline of June 30 for repatriating Andhra employees.

At a press conference here on Saturday after a meeting of Coastal Andhra Intellectuals' Forum, he said the State Government should think of a `via-media solution' to ease the hardship of Andhra employees.

He feared that the Andhra region would lose 10,000 jobs if the GO was enforced.

    GO 399 opposed

    V. Gopal Reddy, president, APNGOs' Association, opposing GO 399 (on identification of non-locals to be repatriated), wondered how the Government could ask the employees, who had completed 30 years of service in Hyderabad, to return to Andhra.
