All set for pre-admission guidance programme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The stage is set for the fourth edition of The Hindu-Educationplus Pre-Admission Guidance Programme for professional courses that will be held at the A.K.G. Memorial Hall here on Sunday.

The programme, which will begin at 9 a.m., is being organised for the benefit of those seeking admission to professional courses in the engineering/medical streams in the State.

Registration fee

Spot registration will be allowed for the programme. Those wishing to exercise this option must reach the venue well before the commencement of the programme and remit the registration fee of Rs.50. Those who have registered via e-mail should bring a printout of the reply they had received from The Hindu to their email. Such candidates too should arrive at the venue early enough to remit the registration fee at the designated counter.

Each participant will be given a handbook that provides an overview of the main professional courses free of cost.

Joint Commissioner for Entrance Examinations S.N. Kumar will make a presentation on the online counselling and seat allotment process for professional courses conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

IT sector

Medical expert and health activist C.R. Soman will speak on the medical/allied courses while Ajay Antony from the Triumphant Institute of Management Education (T.I.M.E.) will provide insights into courses in the engineering stream.

Former CEO of the Technopark and former member of the State Planning Board G. Vijayaraghavan will speak on professional courses and the IT sector.

G.P.C. Nayar, president of the association of managements of private self-financing engineering colleges, will also speak at the programme being organised in association with the State Bank of Travancore and co-sponsored by T.I.M.E.

Similar programmes were organised in Kochi on June 8 and in Kozhikode on June 9.
