10 nominations rejected after scrutiny

MADURAI: Nominations of 10 candidates were rejected after scrutiny on Saturday, leaving 29 persons in the fray for the by-election to the Madurai West Assembly constituency. Among the rejected were four papers of dummy candidates of political parties and six independents. The Returning Officer, A. Narayanamoorthy, said that the last date for withdrawal of nominations was June 11. The symbols would be allocated the same day.
