Facile wins for Karimnagar

VIJAYAWADA: Karimnagar scored facile victories over Prakasam (6-0) and Warangal (6-0), while host Krishna outplayed Chittoor 12-5 in the men's section of the fourth AP State senior inter-district baseball championship at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Saturday.

As many as 12 men's teams and six women's teams are taking part in the two-day championship.

The results: League: Men: Ranga Reddy bt Anantapur 10-0; Adilabad bt Anantapur 6-0; Karimnagar bt Prakasam 6-0; Warangal bt Prakasam 8-7; Karimnagar bt Warangal 6-0; Hyderabad bt Chittoor 11-1; Krishna bt Chittoor 12-5; Mahaboobnagar bt Kurnool 10-0.

Women: Karimnagar bt Kurnool 9-2; East Godavari bt Chittoor 9-5.

Cherukuri is manager

Cherukuri Satyanarayana, president of the Krishna District Archery Association, has been nominated as the manager of the Indian archery team for the second Asian Grand Prix and junior archery championship to be held at Chinese Taipei from June 14 to 20.
