VISAKHAPATNAM: After 15 successful events in the last three years, The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007 is entering the port-cum-steel city of Visakhapatnam for the first time. It promises to be a bigger affair, with more number of jobs on offer.
Venue
The 16th edition will be held on June 23 and 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rajeev Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Sports and Cultural Complex, National Highway-5, near Akkayyapalam. This year, The Hindu has so far conducted the fair in Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad, Madurai and Bangalore, which have together witnessed more than 2.55 lakh aspirants walking in to meet prospective employers from various industries. More than 15 companies from IT, ITES and BPO industries are participating in this edition of the fair. Most of them are top tier companies. Each of these companies have plans to recruit in big numbers, making it the largest event of this kind in terms of the number of participating companies and the number of jobs on offer. While each company will have specific requirements, the event on the whole will have lots of jobs on offer for graduates/post-graduates and professionals with up to 10 years experience, seeking prospects in the industries mentioned.
Interactive platform
The fair serves as an interactive platform for both recruiters and job seekers and offers choice for both of them. This value addition from The Hindu Opportunities, the largest recruitment advertising brand, addresses a felt need of both the industry and job seekers.
Registration process
Most companies would go through a process of short-listing candidates, administering tests and conducting interviews. Candidates can register online at www.thehindu.com or www.tmifirst.com/ hf6/index.aspx. Once the process of registration is complete, candidates need to take a printout of their registration and walk into the fair to meet prospective employers. It is advisable to carry at least 15 printouts of one's resume to the fair. The event is sponsored and presented by Cognizant, with Verizon and HSBC. Technology Partner is TMI First.
