Sadasivapet (Medak): A team of Revenue intelligence officials began looking into alleged irregularities in land acquisitions by the Gospel for Unreached Millions (GUM), also known as Charity city, in Maddikunta village on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sadasivapet Tahasildar, Kishan, said Charity city purchased two acres of assigned land under survey number 301 in Maddikunta and another five acres under survey number 231 in Nagulapalli village. The Tahsildar said he will soon issue notices to Charity city. He also said the Joint Collector has ordered a thorough look into other irregularities as the records show only 669 acres of land under Charity city control while it claims ownership of 1,000 acres.
Effigy burnt
Congress activists led by Municipal Chairperson Kottagolla Anuradha, Congress town president Subhash, PCC member Ram Goud, former Municipal Chairman Satyanarayana and ZPTC Nagamani assembled in front of Charity city and raised slogans against evangelist Kilari Anand Paul. They later burnt his effigy. Few activists tried to gate crash into the premises but a contingent of the Armed Reserve Police thwarted their effort. Meanwhile in Sangareddy town, Municipal Vice-Chairman Jalaluddin Baba, District Mahila Congress president Nirmala Jayaprakash Reddy, and the TJR Yuva Sena organised a rally from Old Bus Stand to Crossroads. Activists burnt the effigy of K.A. Paul and organised a rasta roko on National Highway 9.
Paul warned
Nizamabad: Congress party workers burnt the effigy of K.A. Paul for his allegations against Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
