Music composer Dattaram dead

PANAJI: Hindi film-music composer of yesteryear Dattaram, alias Dattaram Wadkar, died after a heart attack on Friday at his residence in Mhavlingem, north Goa. He was 78. He is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters.

Dattaram, who started his career as an assistant to Shankar-Jaikishen in Raj Kapoor's `Barsat' in 1948, continued to assist Shankar till the mid-1970s even after Jaikishen passed away in 1969.
