CHENNAI: Two autorickshaw drivers were murdered in different incidents in the city on Friday. Satish (28) of Vysarpadi, was hacked to death by a gang at M.K.B. Nagar around 9. 30 p.m., when he was on the way to Kodungaiyur. According to the police, sometime ago Karthik, a resident of Vyasarpadi, rode his two-wheeler fast in a residential locality. Satish advised him against over speeding and some of the local youths allegedly roughed Karthik up. Karthik brought the incident to the notice of his relative Pushpakaran, an accused in a murder case. He along with his accomplices, followed Satish and allegedly hacked him to death. While a member of the gang, Murali, surrendered in the George Town Court, three others said to be involved in the case, Pushpakaran, Ravi and Rajini, surrendered at the Ambattur Magistrate Court. MKB Nagar police have registered a case.
Second murder
In the second case, T. Ravi (40) of Metha Nagar, Aminjikarai, was murdered by a three-member gang. Police said the victim was returning with his family in his autorickshaw after watching a movie, when the gang intercepted the vehicle on Harrington Road in Chetpet. When he abandoned the vehicle and fled, the gang chased and murdered him. Police suspect previous enmity the reason for the murder. Chetpet police have registered a case.
