VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad defeated Karimnagar 8-6 in the final of the men's section, while host Krishna scored a narrow win over East Godavari 4-3 in the women's section to emerge victorious in the AP State senior inter-district baseball championship, conducted at the IGMC Stadium here on Sunday. Earlier, in the semifinals, Krishna and East Godavari women trounced Mahaboobnagar (8-2) and Adilabad (4-2) respectively. In the men's section, Hyderabad and Karimnagar outplayed Krishna (12-7) and Mahaboobnagar (7-6). Member of Parliament Lagadapati Rajagopal, who attended the closing function as chief guest, gave away the prizes.
